The Western Avenue district covers nearly seven miles, from Wilshire Boulevard at the northern end to 36th Street at the southern end. In that space are restaurants, boutiques, salons and spas, home goods stores, markets and everything in between. Western Avenue is one of the most diverse stretches in the city.
Venturing out of The Curve, check out Iron Star Urban Barbeque, an OKC favorite featuring an upscale spin on Southern staples; Flip’s Wine Bar, known for delicious Italian specialties and an extensive wine list; and West, combining custom cocktails and fine dining with unique takes on American classics.
If you’re interested in doing some shopping, look no further than Antique Avenue, where vintage finds abound; Gil’s Clothing & Denim Bar, featuring name brand and clothing and more styles of jeans than you could possibly dream; True North Living, specializing in custom made, hand-crafted solid wood and upholstered furniture; and Guestroom Records, a music lover’s paradise.
Perhaps the jewel of Western Avenue, the 1940s-era Will Rogers Theatre greets visitors from miles away with its neon sign, welcoming guests for live music and upscale food and drinks at The Lobby Café and Bar.
