Home to a respected collection of Native art, pottery, basketry, textiles and one of the finest beadwork collections in the Southwest, Red Earth Art Center is an exciting destination to explore Oklahoma’s diverse American Indian cultures. Located in the lobby of the BancFirst Tower in downtown Oklahoma City, the nonprofit promotes the traditions of American Indian arts and cultures through education, a premier festival, a museum and fine art markets.

For over 40 years, Red Earth has been recognized as a multi-cultural resource for advancing the understanding and continuation of traditional and contemporary Native culture and art. It has grown to now be one of the most revered organizations of its kind in the U.S.

Red Earth hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the Red Earth Festival, FallFest and Treefest. Since 1987, the Red Earth Festival has drawn participants and spectators from around the world. The annual festival highlights diversity within Native cultures in an environment that promotes respect and unity for artists and participants alike. FallFest, a multi-faceted event celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day, features an outdoor art market, dancing, food and cultural presentations with a morning parade to kick off the festivities. During the holidays, Treefest offers an opportunity to view Christmas trees decorated with handmade ornaments representing Oklahoma’s diverse tribal nations at NorthPark Mall.

Those who wish to expand their knowledge and skillset can take part in Red Earth’s various educational programs throughout the year, which draw from exhibits, workshops, demonstrations and seminars that showcase art, dance, music and literature.

Since reopening in the BancFirst Tower in 2021, Red Earth has also become a beneficial outlet for Native artists to sell their art to the public, allowing it to continue to serve its mission. Galleries and exhibitions are free to explore and open to the public Monday through Friday.
