For nearly 30 years, Oklahoma Contemporary has connected the Oklahoma City community to unique art experiences and learning opportunities. By focusing on contemporary art, specifically art created by living artists, Oklahoma Contemporary provides a home for the art of now and the art of what’s next.
Now, with a stunning new building located in Automobile Alley, Oklahoma Contemporary aims to encourage artistic expression in all its forms. The organization provides accessible and inclusive art experiences with free exhibitions, events and performances year-round. Low-cost, high-quality art classes and camps for youth and adults are also available. Admission to Oklahoma Contemporary remains free and open to the public. Timed tickets are available to provide safe social distancing and are available every 30 minutes while the gallery is open. Reserve yours here.
Classes at Oklahoma Contemporary, both virtual and in-person, are for all ages and range from ceramics and fiber arts to digital media, hip-hop and robotics. Visitors can enjoy events like Second Saturday, a free family-focused day of art talks, hands-on art making, performances and gallery adventures offered the second Saturday of each month from 12-3 p.m. Plus, children can attend arts camps over spring, summer and fall breaks. Check out the fascinating selection of hands-on four- and 10-week classes, short workshops and casual Friday Night Series courses.
With its new building comes the Café Contemporary, open for dine-in, terrace seating and curbside pickup, and Shop Contemporary, a collection of art and prints, home goods, accessories, books and items for kids for sale.
