If it’s internationally acclaimed artistry you’re after, then you’ll absolutely love Edmond’s Armstrong Auditorium. Just 30 minutes north of downtown Oklahoma City, the venue has hosted such acts as Broadway legend Kelli O’Hara, the Russian National Ballet, the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet and many others. It’s also rated No. 1 of 19 things to do in Edmond on TripAdvisor and has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Architectural beauty and elegance abound at Armstrong Auditorium. Dominating the Grand Lobby are three of the largest crystal chandeliers in North America, each made of Swarovski Strass crystal manufactured in the Austrian Alps. Nearby, two seven-foot crystal candelabras handmade in Baccarat, France, were previously used by the Shah of Iran. Marble for pillars and floors was imported from China and Spain, and semi-precious caramel onyx for three of the Grand Lobby’s walls was quarried in Azerbaijan and polished in Viareggio, Italy.

Inside the theater, guests will be greeted by custom American Cherry paneling and a swath of gold, royal purple and deep crimson. The stage houses two of the finest Steinway & Sons pianos in the world: Model D concert grands, hand-selected by Armstrong staff in Hamburg, Germany.

But all that opulence would be nothing without quality acoustics, and luckily, Armstrong delivers. The auditorium features an extremely low nine-millisecond initial time-delay gap for audience members to enjoy a remarkable level of acoustic intimacy. Plus, the ratio comparing the hall’s volume to each seat is more ideal in Armstrong Auditorium than in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Boston’s Symphony Hall or Vienna’s Musikverein, which are the three world standards by which engineers measure acoustic quality.

How’s that for an artistic experience only found on Adventure Road?
