Set in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, Scissortail Park is an engaging gathering space that extends from the business core to the river shore. The 70-acre park is perfect for enjoying everything from a tranquil morning stroll along a tree-lined walkway to an evening concert on the Great Lawn.

Visitors can rent pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and tandem kayaks at the boathouse on the south end of the Park. The Scissortail Boathouse is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.

Lace up a pair of skates and roll around the 5,000-square-foot seasonal Sky Rink! Traditional quad skates and inline skates are available to rent, or you’re welcome to bring your own. Located in the southeast corner of the Park near the Skydance Bridge, the rink is typically open Wednesday-Sunday but subject to change based on weather.

You’ll find many lush garden spaces all over the grounds of Scissortail Park planted with native grasses, trees and flowers that are home to butterflies, ducks and more wildlife. Your four-legged pals are also welcome to enjoy some fresh air from within the expansive dog park area.

Your little ones will find big fun at the Play Pavilion. Perfect for birthday parties, family reunions, picnics and baby showers, this area is equipped with three covered outdoor bays and two interior enclosed bays for gathering. Plus, geometric dome climbers, a net lens, a large fort with a tower and slides rope climbers and more to explore. (Be sure to check out the Little Free Library, too!)

To cool off, head to the nearby Scissortail Sprayground to play in the many fountains. You can enjoy the outdoor water fun every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. If they are turned off, it’s likely due to a weather or wind issue!

Scissortail Park’s onsite restaurant, SPARK, is operated by the Social Order Dining Collective and features burgers, bites and cold delights on its menu. Known for its classic Spark Burger, Pink Fries and Frozen Peach Club Special, SPARK has a taste for all ages with a vibrant and welcoming environment. To get your fresh produce fix, come to the OSU-OKC Farmers Market every Saturday in the Stage Plaza. Local vendors are on site for you to shop their selection of fruits, veggies, flowers, honey, treats and much more from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
