Science Museum Oklahoma, the state's premier destination for family fun, houses more than eight acres of hands-on science experiences, with thousands of space, aviation and cultural artifacts in the mix. From traveling beyond the Milky Way in the Kirkpatrick Planetarium and the explosive fun of Science Live to discovering where the familiar meets the fantastical in CurioCity, Science Museum Oklahoma allows your inner child to run wild!
Experience a tornado simulator, try your hand at a Segway, look into the deep sea at the Oceanarium or journey through Destination Space, where you can blast off on a mission in the Mercury simulator. Head to the Tinkering Garage to make something new, take something apart or a combination of the two, learn about sustainability in the SMO Gardens and explore the intersection of art and science in ways you’ve never seen in the museum’s smART Space galleries.
SMO’s 20,000-square-foot CurioCity explores basic science principles and promotes creative thinking for younger children through play and collaboration. CurioCity’s eight unique neighborhoods, like Spark Park, Wunderground and Tinker Works, introduce science in unexpected and entertaining ways.
Science Museum Oklahoma also hosts special events throughout the year, including camps during school breaks; Late Nite Labs, an after-hours program for families that includes experiments and activities built around a theme and SMO 21, an adults-only, 21+, after-hours event.
