Get ready to celebrate 20 years of deadCenter film! MovieMaker magazine named it one of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee in 2018.” The deadCenter Film Festival is the largest of its kind in Oklahoma. The name refers to the festival's geographic location; Oklahoma City, and downtown OKC in particular, is known as the "dead center" of the United States. Over the festival's 20-year tenure, thousands of films have been screened, from slasher movies and heavy dramas to slapstick comedies and thought-provoking documentaries. All types of filmmakers are involved, including fresh-faced film students and the likes of Spike Jonze, who opened deadCenter in 2010. All access passes are available for $200, or individual tickets can be purchased for specific films 20 minutes prior to screening. deadCenter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that's made possible each year by the generous donations of supporters of the independent arts in Oklahoma.
Be sure to keep an eye on deadCenter’s website as the 2020 schedule is released.
The best way to experience deadCenter is to register for the All Access Pass. Not only do you get special offers and discounts around the city with an All Access Pass, you also get priority entrance to every film, party, panel and special event starting with the Opening Night Party on the rooftop of the Museum of Art. At the festival, All Access pass holders are allowed into the theater first and the remaining seats are sold to individual ticket buyers. So, you must be in line at least 30 minutes before each film to get priority access. Seats are not guaranteed.
Individual tickets to specific films are not available online or by phone. They are only available starting 15 minutes before each screening, after all All Access pass holders have been seated. Individual tickets, when available, are $12 each. Because All Access pass holders get admitted first, it’s recommended that individual ticket buyers get in line as early as possible for their desired screening(s).
